Riverford and River Cottage team up this May

Two legendary West Country food heroes have come together to make eating fresh, seasonal, organic food incredibly easy, as Riverford launches a new Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe box. Arriving mid-May for two weeks only, these special edition guest chef boxes will contain everything needed to make three colourful, healthy meals for two, including the freshest seasonal, organic ingredients from Riverford farm. As with all of Riverford’s hugely popular recipe boxes, everything is in the exact quantities you need, so there’s no dashing to the shops after work or missing that vital ingredient. All you have to do is cook!

The recipes featured come from Hugh’s latest cookbook, Light and Easy, which is mindful of health, free of fuss and uses no dairy or wheat ingredients. You’ll have everything you need to whip up healthy, well-balanced dishes that are also delicious, satisfying and in tune with the season.

Founded by farmer Guy Watson, veg box company Riverford has been growing and selling its iconic organic veg for 27 years. Hugh’s River Cottage cookery school, meanwhile, began blazing a trail for food based on local, seasonal, sustainably-sourced ingredients back in 2004. It’s definitely a match made in Devon.

Hugh says, “This is a very exciting collaboration. I have long been a fan of Riverford’s fantastic veg boxes and I’m thrilled to find myself in them, as it were! One of my guiding principles when writing Light and Easy was to keep everything as simple and hassle-free as possible. These recipe boxes embody that idea, to the max.”

Guy says, “I love Hugh’s recipes; simple, delicious food made with respect for the ingredients and with the minimum of fuss. It’s also great to be working with someone who shares our environmental principles and determination to encourage cooking from scratch with seasonal ingredients.”

The dishes featuring in the recipe boxes are:

·         New potatoes, asparagus and eggs
