Roll up, roll up your sleeves. It’s time to come out of your business bunker. Your university needs you!
The University of Kent is looking for business pros to network with a select bunch of students.
The gifted youngsters are part of one of the largest and most developed Student Ambassador schemes in the UK. Over 370 Student Ambassadors as they’re known work with teachers and fellow students in schools and colleges to help develop the skills required by employers and to mitigate educational disadvantages.
Through the Employability Points scheme run by the university’s Partnership Development Office, the student ambassadors receive quality training and take on a considerable amount of responsibility and autonomy.
One former Student Ambassador, Dishan Popat, joined Coca Cola a year after finishing his University degree in 2008 from the University of Kent and is now an account manager for the top four supermarkets in Britain and was selected to work at the Olympics in 2012. He’s returning to talk with the student ambassadors at a special networking event along with Jason Arthur from Teach First, a charity committed to narrowing the achievement gap.
The event is on March 12 from 5:30pm. Get involved by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01227 824149.
