Lenleys’ Classic Musical Sofas Rock

Take a classic Italian Natuzzi sofa, add an Ipod docking station, mix in avant garde design flare, and you have the perfect sofa for every generation.

The living room settee is an essential part of family life – and getting it right can just be key to harmony in the home. Lenleys seems to have achieved just that – with a sofa that looks every bit the classic but is no couch potato on the technical or design front.

“It is amazing when we see families come in – it’s the one thing the kids, parents and grandparents seem to all agree on,’’ said Jonathan Watts, managing director.

Lenleys is above all else a family store. The business takes its name from Jonathan’s father Len and a school friend Stanley Adsett, who in 1936 moved from Maidstone to start a haberdashery shop in The Burgate, Canterbury. By 1976 they had five shops, all in The Burgate and Sun Street, selling furniture, beds, carpets, soft furnishings, linens and even glass and china. Jonathan remembers playing in the carpet shop – then in Sun Street..

“My father could never have dreamed they’d be playing music through sofas, but then he wouldn’t have foreseen that for many customers their first contact with Lenleys is via our web site, not through our front door.

Customers often take their first glimpse of what’s on offer through the website, so they can compare prices and styles.

“It’s gratifying with all that’s available over the Web, we still match up favourably,” said Jonathan. “One thing that the Web can’t compete on is the practicality and fun of putting together interior schemes in one place, with expert help on hand for every area.”

Lenleys price promise to try to match any competitor offering lower prices, means customers are assured of the best value.
