Pressup – raising your profile, promoting your brand

Jules Serkin, Public Relations, PRJules Serkin’s Pressup agency is renowned for raising the profile of clients from boy bands to beauty salons and schools to solicitors. Key to Jules’ success in promoting her clients is an ability to create stories that appeal to magazines, newspapers, TV and radio, working with the vast network of media contacts that she’s developed. Jules is frequently invited by TV and radio stations to present briefings on local news, and is a director and presenter for a Web-based channel focused on local current affairs.

Jules also co presents The Business Bunker www.kentbusinessradio.co.uk
Live on Tuesdays from 1 – 3 pm & available to listen on the archive.

Among her clients is an independent school in Canterbury. Jules worked with the teaching staff to build an awareness of its academic, musical and sporting achievements through a steady stream of news articles for papers, magazines and radio. The school now has a waiting list of prospective pupils – an unprecedented situation, and constant enquiries. Pressup oversees the full range of marketing functions for the school, including negotiating and designing adverts, photography for all promotional material and handling the school prospectus.

Jules made another client, a firm of solicitors, front-page news and the talk of the town by promoting their involvement in a local arts project.

Jules’ list of achievements also includes helping to turn around a struggling 120-seat theatre in Canterbury into a sell-out success. She showcased bands just breaking on to the music scene, as well as promoting some of the old greats.

Fantastic job, best article ever!  Thank you for all the work you are doing behind the scenes.
(Penny Tebbit, Head Teacher, Lorenden Preparatory School)

After promotion in the press we received several new enquiries many resulting in new project members for TEN.  Using PressupGroup is a completely stress free way of promoting your business. Jules manages everything from copy and photography to delivery of papers!
(Natalia Sukhram, Economic Development Officer, Canterbury City Council)

That’s brilliant! What more can I say… what more is there to say?
(Penny Tebbit, Head Teacher, Lorenden Preparatory School)

Always impressed with Jules’s enthusiasm on behalf of her clients. The TEN project and some of its individual member business have benefitted directly from Jules’s hands on approach. We received coverage in 6 local newspapers with just one release. Well done Jules!
(Natalia Sukhram, Economic Development Officer, Canterbury City Council)

At a meeting this afternoon, Col Phillip Barry spoke very highly of your PR skills and I must add that we are delighted that you will be working with us.
(David Foley, Chief Executive, Dover District Chamber of Commerce)

Congratulations to the Asterakis local PR person Jules Serkin / Pressup.biz based in Whitstable, who got a fabulous review of the Riverford Cookbook from Gary Rhodes for a local story.
(Vitha Shepard, Press Officer/Copywriter, Riverford Organic, November 2009)

When I first met Jules Serkin I was sceptical over public relations involvement for my business, if I am completely honest I wasn’t really sure what PR did!! Jules has lain to rest any doubts that public relations actually works. Since meeting Jules she has managed not only to get my business into the local press but she has guided me through the whole PR process. I cannot recommend Pressup enough; Jules has a fantastic eye for photography and exceptional interpersonal skills. Since meeting Jules I now feel really confident that my business will be successful. Thank you Jules for everything you have done, you have gone above and beyond your job description.
(Kelly Costello of Fill Your Face, July 2009)

“I have just seen your St. Christopher’s article in Kent Life. Fantastic! We’ll have some of that please!!” (Mr Nicholas Cane, Director of Cane Cohen Ltd, February 2007)

“Many Thanks for your sterling work, we are really pleased with our article.” (Mrs Susan Cane, Director of Cane Cohen Ltd, March 2007)

“Jules has created openings for me on a regular basis. I’ve always been successful in business, but Pressup has enabled me to take a quantum leap. I get to focus on the work I’m good at, and leave the negotiating and networking to Jules.” (Douglas Jacobs, Apte)

“Due to an unheard of and unprecedented number of enquiries for places – possibly due to Mrs Serkin (Press Officer), there is hardly a day goes by when “new” children are here either to help with the assessment of ability or as a taster. Whichever, it means that some of the classes are exceeding, temporarily, the maximum of 18. Space is becoming very much of a premium.” (David Evans, The Master, St Christopher’s School, Canterbury, Kent.)
